Proof Nike's Marketing Tactics Work

If you follow me on Twitter, then chances are you know I love to play basketball. If there is such a thing as an addiction to basketball, then count me as an addict. Seriously, I want to play everyday and, if it weren't for shin splints, I probably would. As it is now, I play at least every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. That's a lot of hooping. I love the competition, I love the exercise, and yes, I'll admit it . . .

I Iove the fact that playing basketball so frequently gives me an excuse to buy more basketball shoes.

Is my obsession with basketball shoes odd? Maybe. But, as the saying goes, if it's wrong, well, then I don't want to be right. (I'm kidding--or am I?)

As of right now, I own nine pairs of basketball shoes. Some might say nine pairs is overkill. I just say it's awesome. For some reason, Nike is always my brand of choice, with Lebron's and Jordan's as my favorites (though I just added a pair of Steve Nash's to the rotation). Despite having so many pairs of shoes, I'm not a collector. I wear all my shoes and beat the crap out of them in the process. I'm always on the lookout for my next pair, so if you have any suggestions send them my way - scott@instantclassictees.com

Interesting fact: I've never worn any of these shoes outdoors. (Interesting fact #2: My wife thinks putting nine photos of my shoes in this blog is funny.)

My three newest (and favorite) pairs.

Did you know this colorway violated the NBA's uniform rules and MJ was fined $5000 per game for wearing them?
